Auction and the Greased Mango

So far, it sounds like a combo Silent and Live Auction is favored. Let’s try doing that--various silent auctions can be posted (both with a “Auction Item!!!!” sheet on the wall and a sign up list below)

Can Mim and Anna coordinate that? Or organize it so that individuals can grab sheets and set up their item strategically somewhere in the house?

If you have something you think is “big ticket”--we can then do a one hour auction (hosted by Chris, if Rob isn’t offended) for those items and announce the winners of the silent auctions...along side or just after brunch (clean up for brunch could happen after the auction to prevent that delay).

A Saturday early evening cocktail hour (post picnic) with a special cocktail was brought up at the February meeting Mim--so you aren’t pre-emptively volunteering Chris....but let’s say if this is our Sat evening activity and perhaps assign our teen help accordingly...a couple of games, pizza and a movie from 5-7? or something as the adult time that was suggested at the february mtg?

Also, as silly as the greased mango (or small watermelon) sounds, that type of water game would work well with our group--both the little ones (amusing for them to watch or float nearby) and the rest to play--remember how we once anchored inner tubes to throw the watermelon in...that would work with folks of many ages, abilities and energy levels...let’s think about that one. It doesn’t have to be a marathon and we wouldn’t want to deprive our dear children of that tradition. :)

I really liked the game Tawny brought to Winter Hill- and that was one that included the older boys- can we play that again?

In the interest of simplification (less stress, more fun), I feel it's only fair to warn folks I'm working hard to relinquish my self-imposed title of go-to girl. Toward that end, I will not be bringing:
office supplies, art supplies, doggie doo celanup supplies, extra recyc bins & signage, any kind of motorized kitchen device, extra fans, toothbrushes, extension cords, batteries, cans for cigarette butt disposal, ear plugs, etc.
I will still commit to:
percolator, big ass electric fry pan, a few kitchen implements, first aid & medicine cabinet items, beer cap bins & openers, grill tools, trail mix with M&Ms.
I'm on the fence about the toaster oven & the table it sits on-- weigh in if you like!

Less is more, JJJ. (Except when it comes to how many m&ms are in your handful of trail mix.) We can do without the toaster oven and table.

full support JJJ. i'm on for some paper/some of the art supplies, and agreed- no toaster/table. :)
and thanks for keeping on with first aid kit , sadly- needed that last yr! you do first aid like nobody else.

and yes- i'm on for auction sheets, etc. if mim wants to help. yay. thanks.

I'm in with Anna for auction sheets.

No to the toaster oven & the table.

I think a worthy goal would be to have JJJ be able to see out her rear view mirror on her way to & from PH XII.

Forgot to sign that last post. It was me, Mim, lurking anonymously.

(this is really Rob) I am not offended and am happy to see a change up to the auction. How I ever became the auctioneer in the first place is a mystery to me. :-)
