Let's bring back the PBC -- the Primary Beverage Container. Each adult, child, dog, squirrel, interloper, and jackalope who joins us will identify their PBC. That's their solo beverage holder for the duration. This should cut down on the pre-meal cleanup, post-meal cleanup, and near-constant running of the dishwasher.
If you want to show your creative side by bringing a container that represents your true personality, shows off your favorite brand, or even channels your spirit animal -- please do! Cosmic points will be awarded for creativity.
For those who don't bring a container from home, I'll make sure we have masking tape and sharpies for marking your cup.
I'm not trying to be the dish police, but know that I've grabbed a glass from the cupboard, drank a glass of water & tried to tuck the glass away somewhere out-of-the-way so I could use it again later. Then, to my germophobic horror, I return later and find it has an identical used glass sitting next to it. Which one's mine? Dunno, so I put them both in the dishwasher. Or, I've seen a kiddo use a glass to get a drink. Put used glass in the sink (thank you!). Then return 10 minutes later to get a fresh glass for more of the same beverage. And then that glass goes in the sink. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.
*Massive morning caveat: Coffee cups. There's a lingering coffee taste/smell that just doesn't wash out & could ruin a good frosty beer/seltzer/lemonade/water, so I plan to use a coffee cup from the cupboard each morning for coffee. But beyond that, I'm going ALL PBC. All. The. Time. Who's with me???

Sign me up! I'm in!
Yes--good idea. Why did we ever stop (some of us haven't--JJJ always has frosty mugs she brought in the freezer)? I only wonder if I have a vessel cool enough.
Great idea! Thanks for the reminder, Mim.
On a similar note: BEER.
??????????
If JJJ is bringing the kegerator, then we should order the beer NOW! I'm happy to do so, but I don't have the $$$ to pick it up. I was thinking same as last year: two IPAs, and something else. Suggestions? Thoughts?
YES for the PBC!!
I can provide some cash to cover the beer when I get up there on Thursday. Not sure I'll be anywhere near first one there, though (have to work a half day). But if it helps, count me in, Mark.
Totally on board (and have tried to adhere to the same mason jar at least for the day). Getting kids in the groove is great!
I think I've answered this in another post (but who knows, my brain is sincerely addled at this point!)--
We're bringing the kegerator! It's clean and in fine working order as far as we know (we haven't used it since last PH for anything but canned beverages and extra veggies).
John says he'll be happy to pick up the first keg on his way in Thursday evening, which will be probably 5-7ish, so plan your gap-bridging 6-packs accordingly.
I'm also happy to change out kegs during regularly scheduled store runs, or throw cash at whoever is going if needed, so please feel free to order away!
happpy to also throw cash and support and do my part to drain the first one. thanks all.
Down with all of it - PBC, IPA's (Shoals fan here btw), kids and coffee.
PBC- yes! thanks mim. good reminder. i usually use the blue mason jar! will get max on board too
All in on PBC.
I will definitely be labeling my coffee cup! Genius! Trying to remember which of the two colors I chose and where I hid it so someone else doesn't think it's theirs had been a failing system for more than a decade
